Students, who learn management information systems (MIS), are confused with the software and conceptual heritage. To understand the present situation from the past, this article focuses on overviewing the leading concepts on MIS. This article is made up as follows: Firstly, the background and the purpose of research is discussed. Secondly, the reasons why we can't grasp the present situation on MIS today are analyzed. Thirdly, topics which should be revealed are showed. Fourthly, the overview table is presented and leading concepts are explained. Lastly, summary and future tasks are discussed. Leading concepts on MIS are \"EDPS\", \"MIS\", \"DSS\", \"OA\", \"EUC\", \"SIS\", \"BPR\", \"CALS & EC &e-Business\", and  \"ubiquitous society & Web2.0\". Some of them are different from past research and some are discussed from the different point of view.
