Byproducts in the Synthesis of Di-2-pyrazinylmethane Matsumoto, Kouzou 松本, 幸三 Kurata, Hiroyuki 蔵田, 浩之 Crystalline substances were obtained as byproducts in the synthesis of di-2-pyrazinylmethane. These byproducts are identified as tri-2-pyrazinylmethane, 3-chloro-2,2'-bipyrazine, and 9,9-dipyrazinyl-9H-cyclopentadipyrazine based on their spectroscopic properties. Tri-2-pyrazinylmethane is expected to be used as a precursor to tetra-2-pyrazinylmethane.
